Power window woes
I have a drivers door windo that won't go up. It will make a click noise when I hit the down switch. But when I hit up I only hear a very faint click. Has anyone had this before? It sounds like the window motor is siezed. Is there an easy way to free it up or is a replacement needed
Common issue.
I would start by cleaning the window track (Q-Tips) and then spaying them with Silicon lube. Usually this fixes the problem. If not, you have to tear into that door. If you are lucky, the window is out of alignment. You can adjust each track independently. The actual window is bolted to the lift mechanism in a fixed position. These motors are very weak, anything causing a mechanical obstruction will freeze the window from going upward.
A more expensive and thankfully rarer issue is a bad motor or lift mechanism (worm gear).
