Default Power Steering Leak

My '07 H3 is leaking power steering fluid. Not a heavy leak but annoying. I can't really tell where it's leaking from. How tough is it to take out the pump and reservoir?

Before just taking off parts you should try to identify where the leak is coming from. Once you know what part is leaking then you will know whether you need to remove something to fix or replace it.

Go to your local auto parts store and get UV dye and put it in the system. They have kits usually under $20.00 that include the dye, a uv light source and goggles. You can google it if you don't understand how it works. Good luck.

Thanks for the responses. I don't know where it's leaking from yet, but I think it's from the reservoir or the pump. To tell the truth, it's been so long since I've needed to turn a wrench around an engine, I'm looking forward to getting to it (other than the cost and down time, of course). RK- That's a good idea. Much appreciated.

Your are welcome. I confirmed a rear engine cover leak on my Alpha/Offroad using that technique. It was repaired under warranty and has been okay since. Good Luck
