power steering hose costs
 

You don't have to read it all, just in bold!!! I really need help ASAP!

Yes, I did not have time to call some other mechanics and now I have an appointment with a mechanic shop that opens before the others do. SO I need to know what it has costs others for:

power steering fluid flush
+
power steering hose replaced.

I got an estimate of $295 at this mechanic. All I could google and find was this:

GENERALLY I want to know if $295 is way too much for a steering fluid flush and new hose.

It also says "groaning noise" I'm getting more of a I don't know how to describe it, but its annoying. It comes and goes, I barely hear it anymore. At first it was constantly--the first day. Then it just felt like coming and going. I don't want to say what it sounds like because then you might think its something entirely different.

The mechanics said they didn't hear anything, because when I go there it decides to shut up. But they checked and said oh you need a new power steering hose. I'm a girl-- I don't want to be ripped off here.

It doesn't sound like a whistle at all, its kind like something is loose or that noise you get when I guess you buy something, put it together and then you hear a noise that is a little off that you have to adjust something maybe? See I can't describe it. No idea.

i would start by pricing the hose at autozone to get a reference point.
