yes they are useful, I had to rent a 15' ladder and I tied it down on top of the bars, without them the roof would have been scratched to hell.

I know the place I use for PC has a textured black powder which would match the stock plastic trim pretty close. If it was me I would go that route....chrome not so much, well unless you're a gangster or football player lol

Of course now I have my Gobi so they just sit in the corner of the garage.
