Mars! Moon! Remember both well. I used to live in McCandless Township in the burgh and I had a few friends who lived in Mars. I used to do a lot of small game hunting all through Cranberry Township way before it got developed into oblivion. Big game hunting (deer) was usually conducted in Butler or Kitanning. Many years ago, they built a K-Mart right by the intersection of Rt. 19 & I-79. I saw the "For Sale" signs there when I was hunting and, if I remember correctly, I could have bought that property for $1,200/acre. Of course I didn't. Mannnn, I could have retired right then and there. And Moon! I used to work at the airport in Moon Township many years ago.....one of my first jobs out of college. Ehhh, that was the old airport, not the new humongous one. Even the old airport was considered one of the largest five airports up until a certain year. Not bad for a small city. If I remember correctly, Ford City is about 40 miles NE of the burgh, south of Kitanning and east of Butler. That was still nice andopen when I last hunted there, about 25 years ago. I've been out here for almost 23 years and I haven't done ANY hunting at all. Ironic, since I now have the right vehicle for it (sorry, not a Hummer yet). I miss it. Not too many hunting partners in California. All the ones I had back there dropped over dead with heart attacks from too much kielbasa and Iron City. BTW, do they still make IC Light? Happy to see you're a Steeler fan!
