I painted mine just over a week ago.

Tried just about everything, still comes back. Paint may be the final solution.

 

I've been a painter for over 20 years. It's never a good idea to paint plastic. Yes, they do have paint that is specifically formulated for plastic surfaces, and it holds a little bit better than paint that is for metal...............but not much. Something rubbing up against it will scratch the paint right off. If you're off road at all and limbs touch it same thing. When someone comes to me asking to paint something that is plastic I refuse because it just does not last. Just spray tire shine on a rag and wipe it on all the plastics and they will look as good as new. We do it once a week when we wash the Hummer.

 

Yea tire shine is your best answer. I believe the better stuff to use is stuff with silicone in it there is advanced polymer stuff too. I used some of it on mine and worked well. But the coating or something was peeling off of mine in a tiny spot when i bought it so never new looking. I never hit it with preasure washer either. Scared it will peel alot more.
The stuff in the tire shine that makes your tires greasy and shine, moistens the plastic and soaks in deep helping it last.

 

I second that motion. I have not used it on my H3 yet as it is garage kept and has not really faded. I have used it on my 97 cherokee XJ and the results are a small miracle. I just did this recently so I cant say how often i will need to repeat the process. I do however have a small place next to the windshield where the finish is starting to peal on the black trim
