hey guys... i wanted to show you guys our nitrogen machine and my work space =) today i pretty much got slammed with work so after i was to lazy to leave on time and just messed around... since my car is currently having the motor built at a machine shop ive been driving my parent's benz... i used their car as a demo for you guys... basically filling your tires with nitrogen will reduce the amound of problems you have with your tpm's since the air pressure wont fluctuate as much during weather changes its also lighter and better on gas mileage... it drains all 4 tires at the same time to 3psi then fills back up with n2 to the desired psi and drains it again then fills again to get as much n2 in there as possible....

The only problem for Hummer Owners is that it's not pratical for those of us who air down to go wheelin. I know what it costs around here and it would get expensive real fast even if you only go off road once a month.
Fill em w/ N2 and sipe the tread.
I got an air compressor.
It all sounds like a fantabulous idea, but it really is no biggy. I would not go so far as to say it is a waste of $$ to do N2, but the return is so minimal, why bother?

no offence to the thread starter but this is just another sham to make dealerships money....just like the $200 engine flush we used to do when I worked for Mercedes. The average owner won't know the difference and will sink money into this...but it was tested in full by peterson 4 wheel magazine a while back and it was proven that nitrogen had almost no advantages over using air from a simple pump.
it will make my tires easier to rotate on my own, because they will float
I figure between a new intake, nitrogen tires and synthetic oil, i'll be ALL set for Route 66 raceway in a couple months when they do open racing
We're talkin' some serious drags into the low 17's, yeah baby.

i take no offense at all to any dealership remarks... i agree because sometimes half the stuff we do i cant believe people pay for... such as engine flushes... most manufacturers wont even warrenty an engine that has had an engine flush... im in this for the love of mechanics and thats why i work here... but even though i do believe that n2 is expensive why not do it for myself since i have access to the machine? there are advantages for using n2 but nothing drastic...
No offense intended here either but that is a bit over the top for me and I'm a diehard car nut with two vettes and an H3 I baby too much as it is. Besides, air is composed of 78.08% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.038% carbon dioxide, trace amounts of other gases, and a variable amount (average around 1%) of water vaporso I'll settle for 3/4 tires' worth of free N2.
Also, my '08 Hummer has been through some very cold days this winter and the TPS sensors have not so much as peeped once. The sensors in my vettes, especially the one with aftermarket wheels, have blipped an error on occassion but those are few and far between.
To each, his own . . .
