Default Picked Up an 04 H2

Got myself a 2004 H2 with 105k miles last week. I love the look of the vehicle and the size of it. Reminds me of my 2008 F-250 but I am having some reservations about picking up this vehicle. Looks like I have a big "to do" list with this one.

Nah... No matter what is the matter with it, you'll find someone here that can tell you how to fix it. Seriously

I know how you feel man. Bought one was extremely happy but only lasted 6 months with it. The gasoline these H2's guzzle is absolutely insane. (I live in NYC. Gasoline is about $4.00+ a gallon of premium)

I couldn't deal with it anymore & sold it.

I would suggest the radiator trans cooler bypass if it has not been done already. Seems that alotof h2 trannys fail between 100k and 125k mostly because of the rad cooler failing.

Picked up an 03 yesterday with 115K - I have a to-do list also. I was wondering about bypassing the trans cooler as I will not be towing anything. ?

you will need some kind of cooler even if not towing. Do a search on here about trans coolers or look for one of my old posts about it.

I was kinda torn between spending a lot of money on a cool low mileage unit in Columbus, OH and a cheap one that was local (west of Saint Louis). I bought the local one and hope for the best. High mileage but seems pretty good so far -all things considered.

I have to replace the radiator already. It started to leak. Figured I would install a external transcooler. Just did the front hubs as well. Now gotta find out why the bottom heater on the front seats don't work and fix the up and down motor on the drivers seat. After that going to fix the exhaust leak and the service 4wd. Once that is done, gonna tackle the heater core.

Yeah, I am scared now. I see where all aluminum radiators are only $178, and installation would be $250 (including new fluids and hoses as necessary). Probably could use new shocks also and they have a buy 3 get on free special- so.... Not to mention a synthetic oil change and maybe differential oil change- ? Probably less than a 1000 all together.
