I was probably the first, maybe second, person on the forum to do this. It's great. Although I have a 5-speed, the results were awsome. I can help you understand it more if you'd like, but tonight i'm a bit busy. The relearn process is a piece of cake, just time consuming. It takes about 30 minutes. I did it and it worked the first time. Not one person here that has had to do it has had it fail as far as I remember. The results are great. It takes a few tanks of gas to really get it going, but you will notice a difference, especially if you have an automatic! If you have any specific questions, post them here for PM me and I will be more then happy to answer them. Kelly is also very responsive if you ask her.

Once and for all..

The Security Relearn is for a NEW PCM core, or a LOANER PCM...your Original PCM WILL NOT need it done...The loaner and/or the new PCM core will come with a simple step by step instructions and the procedure, thattakes about 31 minutes of sitting on your *** and turning the ignition key on and off....that's it...You might ask..How do I know if I need this done??...Answer: Your H3 won't start...If it starts..then your all done, nothing elseto worry about except getting your original PCM back, all tuned and ready to go.
Some people including myself, didn't need to do this security relearn for our LOANER...some do...so if you do..the instructions are easy.

The CASE relearn is fora NEW PCM Core ONLY, if that's the way you go..You have to take your H3 to the dealer and they reset or recalibrate something like a crank sensor, because you have a NEW PCM and it ain't sync'd in yet with your H3...this costs about $80.00..Thesymtom for this is a check engine light...everything else runs fine and acts normal.....If you are using a LOANER, Alvin alreadyhas this problem programmed out, so it won't be a problem while you have his LOANER...

So you're saying that if I get a New Core as a loaner and can deal witha check engine light for a few days then why pay the extra 50 bucks?

No, IMO I would get the loaner and pay an extra $50.00 and deal MAYBE with a Security relearn for the loaner...A NEW PCM (CORE OPTION) will require a CASE RELEARN...That will cost you $80.00..

Why do people seem to get their panties in a bunch when we ask questions which originate from a true need/want to learnand lack of understanding about something- especially before $100's of dollars are going to be spent (I'm not talking about questions that have been asked 1000x like tightening torsion bars either). In general, there seems to be a growing lack of patience around here IMHO

You must be talking about me...since I'm the only one that responded in the most understandable and accurate and pleasant way I know how to your questions and concerns..Sorry if you think I was impatient...
What I find disturbing is, the growing lack of appreciation from people that ask questions, only for them toreply to the responder with disrespect or lack of gratitude for the answer, furthering insult to injury, to find or try to find fault and express critisim with the responses or answers....

Btw; Your welcome Luke, my pleasure, as I'm always willing to help and find the best deals for the forum members here help the understand things about their HUMMERS when I can...Now Kelly has got the 7th subscriber andthe price of the PCM TUNE is even the cheapest it has ever been...

I didn't find anything impatient about your posts. I'll honestly say that I was feeling a bit lazy and didn't want to search for my answer. Usually Iuse the search here about as much as I use google lol... I do appreciate the time you have taken to fill me in with the information I needed. Again thanks.

There is no lack of respect or gratitude here. If "once and for all..." and "...sitting on your ***..." were not meant with a hint of impatience and a snide tone, than I stand corrected. Inflection can definitely get lost here in all of our typed messages and leave room for (mis)interpretation. The knowledge and experiences you (all) share are very much valued and this is why the questions are asked in the first place.

I can tell you that in the past I have been beaten down by certain members for asking questions, and perhaps that is why I am somewhat guarded. Never the less, thanks for clarifying the PCMFL confusion that I had andI stand corrected regarding your intent.

This is a classic case of a misunderstanding. Dennis may say things like that but he means them in a joking way. He doesn't have anomosity towards anybody. Maybe he should not have said it that way, but I don't think he thought people would take it that way. Can we all just be friends?
