Kudos Jeremy. IK I understand where you are comin from, but IMO promotion motivated by seniority, as the major single factor, results in slackers and the peter principle. Obviously doesn't really apply to this board, but you get my opinion. Wouldn't matter to me if Patrick chooses to appoint an administrator for this board or not. What I think we do need is somebody with admin authority, on a temporary as needed basis, like this week.

Everybody should have a break, vacation, leave sometime, and I'm 100% for that, but if he is lucky enough to be gone a week/10days/2 weeks, give somebody the big hammer that can be here IF we need them. Could be different people, or the same go to guy every time based on who is available. Just my rambling thoughts, and I ain't loosin no sleep over it.
Ultimately, it is up to Patrick to do what he thinks is best, and whatever he does is ok with me because what the hell do I know anyway!

 

JUST to clarify, this wasNOT to be a FULL administrator position. This was to only have limited admin priveleges. I hope that clarifies a few things before the gloves go on and we loose more people, AGAIN! [X(][&:]

limited, full...don't matter...it's principal to me. There is no such job performance evaluations here, exeriance isn't even that important...this is not like a place of employment where other standards can be evaluated when a promotion is handed out. We all do the same thing here...the only thing to be taken into account when choosing someone with admin powers would be seniority....what else is there? Who moves more posts into their proper forum...that's just silly. Anything other than going by seniority would be nothing more than an azz kissing contest....Personally I think Chris has the personality to be a great Admin.......he just has to leave denise's board[:@]

Well dude, like I said, you weren't around at the time, and he thought he'd need someone, so don't take it personal. It's not that big of a deal. I should have never even said anything.

You are saying, anybody here that is a Mod should be judged evenly since we are obviously a Mod for a reason, and the only difference in our forum status after that is the length of time we have been here that distinguishes us. Right?

Personally, I could care less. The fact is I don't have time to be an effective administrator, so it wouldn't make sense. Now that you are back, it may make sense, but that decision is Patrick's, IF he ever comes back

I wouldn't go saying stuff about it being your last post if he didn't offer it to you. THAT is taking it personal. It's not, it's his paid job and his responsibility for YOUR actions on here by him granting you that power. It's business, so don't take it personal and say it would be your last post. That's letting your ego get in the way and taking it personal when it's not. Put yourself in his position for a bit. And NO I'm not being mad or pissy or whatever, but I'm just saying, talking about not posting anymore because someone else beat you out of an Admin position is taking it a little personal and to an extreme I think.

I got no problems with any of you guys, butIK doeshave a valid point as to Chris, cuz while he has the ALL MIGHTY IMPORTANT SENIORITY, I do not think Patrick would set himself and Chris up for a potential conflict of interest??? Just my observations from the outside looking in during the implosion and Dennis bootin changing of the guard.

Well, since Impy is going to be a baby about it I won't EVER do it. I'd rather give it up then see this forum loose one of it's last very active members.

Besides, I would miss him (I'm going to gay hell for that one)

 

this is just a discussion...nothing serious or life threatening going on here...just talking. Would I take it personal if there were to be an admin appointed and I was overlooked completely?...absolutely. I think that's only human nature...after all the time I took to make the decals for this place, after the weeks I took trying to stay on top of hg123 and his thousands of alter ego's....after spending two solid days trying to get all of our mods reinstated after Dennis banned all of us.....I think I did my fair share for this board and most everyone in this room. I know it sounds selfish and I agree that it does 100%...but I'm not scared to talk candidly here either...besides, like I aid earlier...this is just bullchitting amongst friends. My first choice would be Shorty...been here the longest (not as a mod however) then Chris, who would be somewhat conflicted if he is made an admin, then me[8D]

 

So, what you are saying is that you DON'T think I'm going to gay hell. Awesome
