I am thinking about buying a new 2009 H3T 3.7 with the Adventure Package. On Long Island in NY we have many parkways on which no "commercial" traffic is allowed. This is a pain if you have a pickup which is given commercial plates. A few years ago they modified this to allow pickups that had a real rear seat, seat belts, and doors as a suburban...BUT I think they had to weigh less than 6000 lbs empty...my Ram 1500 club cab 4wd at the time weighed 6200. Does anybody know if the H3T can be licensed as a passenger car in NY?

 

Here's the link to Hummer's web site you'll find it under specs. It lists GVWR as 6001 & curb as 4911 w/ v8 model being 100 more.

JGBB04 is correct on the weights so 4911 empty and 6001 loaded down. Everyone might not know the difference. Curb weight is empty vehicle with just what is needed for it to run (oil,collent,gas, etc). Gross weight is vehicle plus the amount of cargo it can carry. So that sounds like it would fit your requirements Jaguarmeister.
