Last night while I was at the gas station I noticed that the end piece of the exterior drivers door handle is missing. My guess, from the way it looks, the plastic weakened and eventually shattered where it was screwed in. I am not very happy about this at all, especially considering that the vehicle is only a few years old.

It wasn't the entire door handle that broke, it's just the end cap. You know, it's the piece that is always stationary. I have figured out a temporary fix for now. I found the piece in my driveway and used some super glue to hold it in place for now. That way my Hummer doesn't look like crap.

All I can locate on the web is complete sets of handles. Most of them cost well over $150.00. I don't want to spend that much for something that's not worth more than five dollars. Is there a place where I can find this piece? Maybe an OEM website or something?

I am less than thrilled about the H3 at this point. My warranty just expired and there are two other plastic pieces that have broken on the interior of the Hummer. It's almost as if they were only made to take 50,000 miles worth of driving before they start falling apart.

 

which handles do you have? i am replacing my black ones with chrome and will sell you the whole set really cheap

My nephew jumped up and hung on mine breaking off the rear chrome pieace you are talking about. I too superglued it back on and haven't had to look back yet. That was last Oct. before deer season. I figure to leave it just like that until it fails again. Then either order a new one or go black...

 

You can get a new "stub" from gmpartsdirectdotcom for about 5 bucks.

 

I had the same issue and ordered a replacement from Sewell Hummer, part was $6 shipping was $12. easy to put on though.
