Interesting, I'm surprised no one has made one of those vents into a more functional air inlet yet. I might have to look into it. I've cringed at the thought of putting an ungodly snorkel on lol.

You can with some work. If you pull one of the covers you will see bracing in there. Making it functional would remove a good chunk, more than I was comfortable with. I was considering fabbing something for a "ram air" effect in the corner but, in the end, I think the ARB snorkel is a better route because of the proper fit that has been proven. IF I decide to sell it art some point I don't have to explain my shade-tree mod.
