good luck on the hunt bro....I'm not going to get out this year...freekin kids are killing me[:@][:@][:@]
We gotta get together sometime soon - this way we can sneak you away next season and the family can blame me for your abscence.
Absolutely!!!! My family has over 300 acres in the latrobe/Derry area of PA but it's lke a 7 hour drive, way too far to drive for a day or two hunt. Before the kids cameI would go there or to my buddies property in Forkston PA for a week but being that I'm a stay at home dad now, my wife would have to take a week vacation just to stay home with the kids so I can go hunting....not gonna happenWhat sucks is I just got a brand new Browning 7mm magnum semi auto with leopold scope, got my handicap hunting permits so I can hunt with a semi-auto rifle and haven't been able to go out since[:@][:@]

2 1/2 in. barrel![] I would shoot that damn thing if you paid me to! My buddy has one that has a 6 in barrel and that was SICK!! Nope, no big bore pistols for me. I'll stick with the rifle for my hunting! LOL
Well, I have no intention of hunting with it. Whe I lived in NY, I did hunt with a S&W 629 8 3/8" barrel then a Ruger SRH with 91/2" bbl and 2X Leupold scope - both 44 mag, with great success but couldn't do that when I moved to RI. Still hunt in NY and use a rifle - Rem 700Ti in 260Rem, Marlin 336 in 35 Rem, lately a Marlin Guide Gun in 450 Marlin. In PA, I.m taking my Rem 673in 350 Remington Magnum for me, I'll bring the Guide Gun as a back-upand my new Marlin 1895SS in 450 Marlin Leverevolution for my brother. The ES500 emergency kit is for "fun".

Not a problem - we'll head to my old stomping gfrounds in the Catskills - 2 hr drive. You don't need any special permits (aside from a non-resident hunting license) to use a semiauto. My dad used a Rem 742 in 30-06 for decades.

Nice... I used to go to Meeker and get a mule tag and bull tag.... one year my buddy got a cow tag and even landed a nice one.

I had my old 7mm mag magnaported.... it was nice.... but I didn't keep it long.... sold it for more than I paid for it too.... Winchester Model 70 with a synthetic stock and a cheap Simmons Prohunter scope....

Well, I'm back. Had a great time, got an 8-pointer and my dad got a 7 pointer. My brother saw an 8-pointer but didn't have a shot while my cousin saw only doe (we saw more doe in one day thanI have seen in years). Two bears spotted, one only about 12 feet away plus a variety of other game. The bucks are no record-holders by any means, but we were very, very happy to have seen and taken them.
We're heading to the same place next year - it was that good. Other guys in camp were a hell of a lot of fun too.

Thanks and good to be back. Best part was being right next to my dad when he got the biggest buck of his life. I wouldn't trade that moment for anything in the world.

On a different note, that "Naked Picture of my Wife" thread - well, after a week in the woods with a bunch of other guys - to sayI was disappointed with that thread would be a great understatement !
