Opinions on this H3
Black 2006 Hummer H3 AE13R372A
It seems nice to me, and is comparable in price to other H3's in the area.......however 16k still seems a bit off to me for an almost 8yr old vehicle.
This would be my first vehicle I've purchased by myself and really can't afford to get taken for a ride lol. Any input would be greatly value'd! Thanks in advance

I'd take a look at KBB, but it seems a little high. I bought a 2007 here in Austin almost a year ago (with a little bit more miles than this one) for about $3k less. Mine has all the options it looks like you have plus the little bit more powerful 3.7L I-5.
Mine has the stock 6-disc radio with the Monsoon sub.
I'm not sure how Hummers go, and radio's for that matter but typically anything aftermarket can a lot of the times bring the value down (radio, that LED setup). You just don't know what's been done to it. At least that's my experience from modifying sports cars.
Just my 2 cents.
Good luck!

I just looked it up for you on KBB. In your area it says a H3 in EXCELLENT condition (which is hard to obtain; i would rate this one as good just looking at the seat wear, modifications etc) goes for $20,179. I guess I got a steal on mine. Looks like a pretty good price.
I'd say it looks like a decent deal. You have to inspect it very well though. Check all fluids, for signs of abuse. Check carpet stains, or remnants thereof that have been scrubbed by the dealership.............dirty carpets with old stains, good sign it wasn't well cared for. check for leaks, oil, transmission, all fluids. While driving make sure the 4wd works good. Make sure it shifts nice through all the gears. Make sure all the accessories work, and the seats function properly. Steering, ...........basically everything you would check with any other car that you were going to buy.
You should be able to tell just with some simple searching around the vehicle if it was cared for or not. The reason I look for how it was cared for first is because if they were lazy in caring for it and keeping it clean which is easy to spot then they were lazy about maintenance with the oil changes and other general maintenance which will shorten the life of the vehicle.
There's another new member on the site here that bought an h3 that is having nothing but problems since he got it, and I am sure all of those warning signs I mentioned were overlooked. So, if you feel that you don't know what you are looking for with the things I mentioned above, when you test drive it you can take it to a mechanic that you trust and have them look it over for you and do a thorough check all of those things. I know a lot of people who do that. It's a big investment and it is a wonderful vehicle that can last you for many years, but you don't want to end up with one like the member I was mentioning.
Good luck and let us know how it goes. If you need any help just p.m. me.

So I did some more research and this vehicle falls within the range of affected VIN's.............don't think I'll be taking the risk. This leads me to my next problem, after searching cars.com there isnt a single 07 Hummer in the US for less that 17k with less than 80k on it. Sad days are upon us =-(
