Onboard air compressor
Installed a small DC air compressor next to the jack in the rear door. That was no problem but have less than desirable power connection. I've always connect direct to the battery and I keep the engine running due to the 30 amp pull. I replaced the battery clamps with a male plug and am using the power socket in the cargo. Three problems, 1. Have to manually connect to power. 2. I have no idea the amp rating to the cargo power socket. 3. Compressor power wiring starts to warm up at the male plug.
So
1. Anyone know the allowable amp load on the power socket?
2. Is there any wiring to the back of the H3 that are at least 30 amp rated?

Don't know if the rear cigar receptacle has it's own fuse or not, but THAT should give you an idea of amp capacity. If you have a trailer harness, there's a 12 volt 'power lead' that you could tap into. Once again, check the fuse going to it for capacity.
Heres's ya a link to the compressor. I've had this little thing for about three years and it's never failed me. It's slow but takes care of what I need.
