Default Oil Warning Light Comes On Intermittently

Hello Everyone - I am having a problem with my 2007 H3. The oil warning light comes on intermittently accompanied by loud dinging. I have had the oil level checked and have taken to the dealer on several occasions and they can't duplicate the warning notice. Has anyone had a similar problem?

oil lite=?, no/low oil pressure?
they could change sending unit, or connect an actual guage.
if i have doubts about oil pressure and have no guage, i dont drive the vehicle.

id like to know if someone has added a guage. i used to do it with a brass t fitting on fords
so i had the idiot lite and a sw guage. i dont like trusting "blind'indicators

The oil level is easy to check...

The loud dinging what you describe would make me worry more.

Issue with oil pump?! (drtom's pressure check goes in the same direction...)
Usually drain plugs have a small magnet to hold metal residue.
I think it is worth to check on this...
