I am still having drop in rpm(500) and surge back to 800 on complete fast stops. I did MAS and plugs with same results however now on fast decels to complete stop oil light pops on and shuts off once I get going. You think oil pressure sensor is hitting because of low RPM's?

 

I suppose the oil light could be related however I believe you are the first to post this symptom along wiht the drop in RPM's. You said you did MAF and plugs but have you cleaned your throttle body? That should be your next step for an even idle.

 

Throttle body was very dirty, I did not use throttle body cleaner per instructions from parts guy. He said use the MAF cleaner to do TB it is less harsh on parts.

 

Have you checked the oil level. Slam on the brakes and gravity pull oil to the front of the motor which affects how much pressure the oil pump can deliver, if low on oil, you can get the warning light. Add to that a dip in RPMs, I can see that all combining to temporarily trick the system and throw a light.

Check for a code since you have had the light come on

 

i cannot imagine any car stopping fast enuf to affect oil,,,even low oil.
look at the pan.
bashing,smashing the brake is crazy!!. do you floor the gas at each "takeoff"?
this truck does not stop quik,just safe

 

I have not seen the oil light in past 2 days. Yes, the oil level is fine. No i drive very conservatively really helps with milage and this vehicle is by no means ment for speedy takeoffs.

 

Ever figure it out? Having same problem

 

It only happened for 2 days, i think it was from motor trying to stall at stops and light would pop on. Do the mas and TB clean. Maybe some seafoam.

 

if you change spark plugs u may want to make sure u conect the hose on the back of the air box on top of u motor. and yes if u rpm are dropping that much the oil light will come on, kind of flashing.
