Hey I'm new to the forum need some help my interior lights wouldn't work when I purchased from the car the dealer I purchased the car sent it to the chevy dealer where he told me the bcm was changed and reprogrammed but I've noticed today the odometer is not working the speed and rpm are working oh and I can't change the settings for the keyless remote beep please help and thank in advance

Take it back to the dealer that did the work if it was recent (like within the last 60-90 days), they left a glitch in the programming or sold you a bum BCM.

 

They didn't follow programming procedure properly. Had this happen to me once. I didn't believe that it caused the issue till I reprogrammed it following the exact steps listed in the service manual.

1. Programming the BCM
2. Learning the restraints ID

1. Programming Theft Deterrent System Components

1. Program Key Fobs

1. Program Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) System

tell them you got this info from a GM tech. If they don't believe it have them call techline and explain the issue then they will hear it from them again lol. That's how I learned.

 

As long as the odometer never worked after the work was done, if it was working but now it quit could be another issue.

well after arguing with the dealer I bought the car and the chevy dealer they sent it to get fixed one of the things they supposedly fixed was the sunroof drain was clogged which was a lie because the problem I was having was water draining in and got the new ecu wet which caused it to fail so thanks guys you really helped me
