Default Is it normal for Hummers

Hey all, let me ask you last question.
O bought my Hummer from Austin(Round Rock) and while driving to San Antonio, on the highway in San Antonio - After around 100 miles suddenly it felt like while on D - the rpms went to 4-5k but the car was not accelerating almost at all. Somehow like on N shift.

I was wondering is this common for Hummers for auto transmission, and in case it is issue, what could be wrong with the transmission and how much it will cost but in case it is transmission, is it possible to run perfect on 1st, 2d and 3d when I tried on D also but after 100miles constant driving something to go wrong?

When you ask a question, if you want an answer you have to provide MORE INFO. Like what year, how many miles on the vehicle, what model (I5 or Alpha).

Are they with different auto trans - I5 and Alpha?
Not very familiar - to be honest not sure what is I5 or Alpha.
It is 2008 Hummer pretty much - Stock and very clean with clean carfax, but I am far from mechanic and not much into cars.

I will take the Hummer to trans shop this or next weekend. For transm fluid change and flush and overall trans inspection like hummerz adviced
Thanks for your comments.

I wouldn't take it to a "tranny shop" for an inspection... They are in business to sell trans overhauls...

Take it to any reputable repair facility that has the equipment to properly flush your trans. Just have the tech check your trans fluid for discoloration, and advise you. Don't mention anything about your problem, "you are just there for preventative maintenance". Otherwise they could try and charge you a diagnostic fee.. Check into the cost of a filter change along with the flush, and make sure they use DEX-VI, some include a conditioner with the flush which couldn't hurt. GL

BTW, if you can find a shop that uses BG, that's the best, IMO. Have been using BG products/equipment for years and fixed 99% transmission shifting issues, with it...

Do you have the 5 cylinder or V8? Still, no mileage info.

It is not normal for your trans to slip. Why you might be experiencing that could be dozens of reasons. I won't bother to speculate when people ask a question but do not provide enough information.

Good luck.

Hummer is 5 cylinder basic version i think, mileage 105k.
Still my question is valid though - isn't it the same transmission on v6 and v8?
