Taxes are high in my part of NJ and we get crap for it...this morning was the FIRST cardboard pickup day since CHRISTMAS!!!! We had our spare bedroom filled wall to wall with cardboard just waiting for today to come....terrible!! Our garbage will take a max of 5 bags per pickup per house....I have an infant and a 3 year old...we get 5 bags filled up in a night....I leave a case of beer out for the garbage men once in awhile, so I get away with putting out more than I am supposed to...butfor 10 grand a year in taxes I shouldn't have to bribe the damn sanitation workers into taking my garbage!!

and it is just the opposite here... we put out whatever trash we want and as long as it isn't what they consider something they have to send the flatbed out for they take it.

I tried to get them to take a piece of guttering and they wanted me to cut it up.... so by the time I went to all of that work I just took it to work to the dumpster.

.... and they wouldn't take some broken drywall once.

Get this..last summer while the pool was getting built I decided to knock down a wall to open up my kids play room. I put the garbage in those contractor black bags from homedepot. They never took it..I called and asked why, they sent out a sanitation suervisor...OHHHHHHH sorry mr. big title!! Anyway, the douche comes to the house and rips open the bags...then knocks on my door and tells me that the trash wasn't picked up because it looks like there is a home improvement project being done and there is no permit in the window. He then asked to come in and see what work is being done. I just said it was stuff from the pool build and got away with it......but can you believe that chit!! I want to buy a pallet full of sheetrock and hand sheets out around the neighborhood...just to **** him off.

I lived in Somerset County, and had a chicken wire fence that ran for only half of the back yard, and the other half werehigh hedges owned by the neighbor. He decided to chop down his hedges, so I called the building department(from work and did not give a name)and asked about any permit requirements for a fence. I was thinking ofputting up a 6 ft stockade fence (I had two dogs and you know how lawsuit happy people are in NJ), andwas told that I needed a permit for anyfence6 ft or higher andneeded to obtain approval signatures for any neighbor within 200 feet. OK, so I confirmed that no permit was needed for a fence of less than 6 ft, but I was told that I would need to come in and pay a "processing fee" for any fence I put up. Yeah, like that was going to happen........... And yes, I did put up the fence and not a word to/from anyone.

When we moved in to our house we had to gut it. The only thing that stayed was the drywall. We had thrash from our driveway down to my neighbors driveway (70 feet) and not once did they complain or skip my house. One week we actually filled up the trash truck, they left and came back within 2 hours and got the rest of the stuff. Only thing I noticed was that every week it was a different trash collector, maybe they quit after seeing my trash pile.
