Default Newbie Wants to Know...

What's this?
It's an aftermarket pushbutton switch of some sort. Accessable from the back seat. One on each side, mounted on the door posts. Any ideas? Bought vehicle from a 3rd party who had no idea on anything about this vehicle.. except the price.

I would say that given the type of switch and its location, that it could possibly be a hidden ignition kill switch. You could open up the center console and simply trace the wires back and see where they go to.

Yes, that's true. I figured it was some sort of factory thing and if so, other folks had it and could tell me what it was. Thanks.

Your H2 did not come from the factory with those switches. Let us know what you find out.

After thinking about this pic, I have one guess. (time to play detective)

According to his description, he says there are two of them (bolted on each side to the "B" pillars) and in looking at the one pic provided, noting that there are 3 led lights on top of it, I would suspect that it is some kind of alarm sensor.

Either proximity sensors for an alarm like FRY mentioned or possibly volume controls for rear seat DVD system? Who knows they could be anything really.

Console switch could be for off road or fog lights. Mine looks like that but it was mounted in the overhead console.

Found out those 2 push buttons on the door posts are A/V switches for the head rest entertainment system. Red button still a mystery. Will check out the fog lights. Good idea, H2CANEPADESIGN.
