Hello from Georgia, I am new to owning a Hummer and new to this forum. I hope everyone had a safe Christmas and that we all will have an awesome New Year! I have just purchased an '03 H2 about three weeks ago. The vehicle is the base model with 85,000 miles and is very YELLOW. I have already learned a lot from this forum just reading through the tech stuff after experiencing a bit of a battery drain issue. This was fixed quickly by removing the on-star fuse from the engine compartment fuse box. I am Very grateful for that information! A little bit about me, I am a medically retired former Deputy Sheriff. I was involved in a nearly fatal head-on collision that occurred while on-duty in 2008. I've had 14 surgeries since and become way too accustomed to being a patient in the Atlanta Medical Center. I have made tremendous gains in my physical rehabilitation but won't ever again be the agile hill billy that my ego thought I once was LOL! I chose the Yellow color on my Hummer because it fits in with my self-named Crash Test Dummy Deputy nick name. I chose a Hummer because it is bigger and built world's better/stronger than my old 2005 Ford Crown Victoria patrol unit that sacrificed itself to save me when a 17 year old kid texting and driving at double the speed limit lost control of his 2009 Camry hit me head-on in my lane on a curvy rural two lane road. (note here the Toyota held it together and the Kid walked away with a life lesson minimal injuries Thank God) I was not so fortunate with a 45 minute extrication and a Helicopter medi-vac for me. Lost my job after my inability to return to Duty (long story) but no worries as I am still here to be a proud husband and father....and now a Hummer Owner! Welcome Sheriff, I'm also a newbie and your neighbor here in Pelham Al. and I also just bought my first '03 H2 with 59k to use as my new hunting vehicle. Sorry to hear about your accident but glad to hear about your progress and you know they always say" a country boy can survive". This H2 drives better than my '14 Durax and rides a hell of a lot better so I think you'll like yours and at least if you have to turn around in the media you won't tear the rear bumper off like you see on all the Crown Vic's. Welcome to the forum, Sir! I like Hummers in yellow colour! Before buying black one I was thinking about yellow H2! Good luck with that!
