I'm looking at a set of wheels for my h2. The thing I'm concerned about is offset, I have no idea what it is or how it works. There's a sale at my local pepboys buy 3 get 1 free. My factory wheel chrome is pitting, so a new set of wheels for $400 is rather appealing.

My guess is those will work perfectly fine.
There are two primary specs. Offset and backspacing. Backspacing is the distance from the flat of the mounting plate to the outer edge of the wheel. Offset is the distance from the flat of the mounting plate to the center of the wheel width.

So I'm figuring on mine, add the .1 offset to the 4.89 backspacing and you have nearly right at the 0 offset, 5 backspacing on those.


I just checked the specs on the Rockstar XD775 wheels that came on mine (I'm selling them, putting a set of stock chrome wheels on). Anyways the specs on the Rockstar wheels on mine

17" x 8" wheels, 8x165.1 bolt pattern, offset 10, 4.89 backspacing, 130.81 center bore.

 

Unless i'm missing it, I'm not seeing the bckspacing stats on the wheel. I can't find any other info on the wheel, either. It's 17x9, so an inch wider right?

I guess I could always return them if it doesn't work out.

 

Its on the pepboys page - bottom of the main description. 8x6.5 (8x165.1 bolt pattern) 5.00 back space. The specs tab shows the offset as 0.

 

Sorry for my ignorance. Does that mean it'll be about the same as stock? the 9" wide, that's a bit wider right?

 

The rims themselves are .5" wider than stock. The factory rims are 17x8.5. Thats not enough that it will make any real difference. The sidewalls of your tires will be ever so slightly "flatter" since at the rim edge they will be .25" further out than before.

I cannot imagine that will really matter...

 

Just clicked buy. My chrome wheels are pitting/flaking badly, and it's an eye sore every time I see them. To get them fixed would be as much if not more than these wheels at buy3 get one free. And I can return them if I don't like them.
