New upgrades
I just got my first hummer the h3 alpha sut. I would I
Like to upgrade the suspension and get 37-40" tall tires on it. Just where I live everyone has faint lifted chevys and fords on 44s. And theres some seriously tough trails if your on the stock 35s. Just wanted to know what everyone is running or wishing they had thats out there. I havent got it to its limits yet but I haven't had it long enough to yet. Thanks guys.

Hello and Welcome, I think.
"h3 alpha sut", "37-40" tall tires", "stock 35s".......What, who, HUH??????
Never heard of the h3 alpha sut? Is it an H3 Alpha or an H3T Alpha?? 37-40" tires - I think you may have purchased the wrong vehicle for your wants and needs. Also H3s come with either 265s (32") or 285s (33") tires from the factory.
What year? Is your Alpha and OffRoad or Base? Do a little "search" for lifted H3 and you will get a better idea of what you can and can not do with your new rig.

Its a 2009 and yeah the h3t alpha my bad I thought it was the same. I bought it used and it came with 35s no lift though it has a leveling kit. All I found was a 5" lift and idk what all that does for tire size also power wise its stought and ive always wanted one since I was little. I just dont know howcappable it is with 37s and a 5" lift if its worth the money. For that ive never had one so I dont knowhow much 5" affects itor where to buy a good quality lift. Thanks for the help.
Does it have lockers? Sliders? Under Carriage Protection? I'd rank these things higher importance than a lift and the biggest tires you can fit. I'd also recommend you wheel what you have for a while first (get the sliders/UCP) before going all out. V8 + 37"-40" tires + inexperience + trying to push the limits = broken parts. Even more so if you have lockers.
An H3T on 35's with lockers (hopefully you got the offroad package) may just surprise you at how capable it is.

Protect your new investment FIRST! Sliders/UCP/Hunner Skidz. Then wheel it a for a while and see if you still need/want a lift kit. You now have an IFS front end, not a point and shoot tons of gas solid front axle (that's why the H3/H3Tsride so well!!!).
Does your new H3T have the OffRoad package (front and rear lockers with the 4 to 1 transfer case? If so, it is an extreeeeeemly capable rig out of the box with 35s.
BTW, Rancho (4") is the only lift I would ever put on any of our HUMMERs!
Thanks for that info guys. Im glad I found a forum where people help you out rather than bash you. Also this maybe a dumb question but how can I tell if this has the offroad package? And where can I go to get these protective peices?

If your 4x4 controls look like this (09-10) Adventure(I5)/OffRoad(V8) then you have the Adventure/Offroad package.

Sorry, you will have to "search" fo the rest of your answers, if you do not find them then we will help you.
