new toy
Hello everyone, first time here. I have just purchased a 1997 4 door hard top and it is not the turbo diesel so can I install a turbo onto it or is that not possible? I want to get more power out of it so any suggestions and info will be greatly welcome.
Thanks
Thanks
Good for you, they are great beasts. My 97 is not the turbo as some had it and some don't. Not really a big difference but would like to do an upgrade of some kind with super chips or something but everything seems to only be good on the turbo models. My engine has been changed out with a heavy block to rectify the 8th cylinder problem so that was a good thing. I just finished removing complete interior and dying all the grey panels to black and now it looks much better. Need seats and carpet and that's it for inside.
What did you dye the vinyl with?
Ive used spray paint on mine and it looks okay but I want to do everything black/gray Im tired of the colors i did and it looks weird with tan seats and gray/black interior.
Also how are you going about re-doing the seats?

I used a product just like paint but made just for vinyl and fabric by Dupli-color and you spray on a prep spray that removes grease and anything else first. I took out everything from int. Stripped it down to wires and shell. Cleaned everything and then assembled it all again with all new screws and such so it looks like new now. I also cleaned and repainted the hardware for seat belts and such so it all looks new inside. I left the headliner the grey so it has some definition and the vinyl floor is still grey but I plan to get a carpet set. I ordered seat leather from Katskin for seats and dash panels are covered in carbon fiber. Want to change out the gauges now too. Its one of those things that once you start you want to keep going. Took me about 35 hrs to take out all interior, clean and spray and put back together. Have not done seats yet but should be fairly easy as they come ready to fit.
