New shoes
Hi all,
I want to get new tires this spring because I still have the factory ones installed and they are getting worn. I want something more aggressive than stock tires but I really don't want to go overboard on size or price. what are most of you using for your H3 urban assault vehicles? 2006 H3 victory red |

I got Cooper Discoverer STT's size 285/75R16. They are great and weren't too expensive- about $200 per tire, mounted and balanced. Got them at christmas so haven't really had a chance to try them in the mud but they go great in the snow. Tread pattern is a little more aggressive than an AT tire (looks similar to a BFG MT KM) but they are fairly quiet at highway speed.

i was thinking cooper too just cause they looked tough but after research and actually talking to the shop they said what i had been reading that there junk. no knock on you geting them just saying when i researched them they had low grades and the guy at the shop said they where junk and had alot of complaints on them and he said if i must get them cause i want to pinch pennies to get the extended warranty on them. hopefully u did or u dont have any problems. i just give my opinion and its nothing personal and i always say if you like it thats all that matters cause its your ride. good luck

Thats intersting because everyone i know will tell you Nitto,s are with out a doubt the worst wearing tires for reg. pavement use!
|
that is interesting, like i said every 1 has a diffrent opinion and so far my nitto tera graplers are in excellant shape after the first 6,000 miles and gona do a rotation asap to keep them going great. maybe the people u are talking to dont have a tire on a 20 in rim like me and have the front leveled and a lift with a custom wheel alighnment, kicks a$$ on dry,wet and snow and the mud is easy as pie, guess it depends on some 1's driveing condition and habbits and there h3 specs so there is alot to take in to consideration. HUMMER ON

I just got a quote from Firestone on a set of 305/70R16 on my Adventure series. More meat = more fun! :-)
They are having a sale right now; buy 3 get 1 free and here's what I was quoted today: 4 Firestone Destination A/T 305/70R16 (50,000 mile rating) 4 tires X $229.99 = $919.96 1 tire free: -$229.99 Lifetime balance & rotation: $47.96 Disposal fee (4 tires): $10.00 TMPS valves: $31.96 Shop parts: $ 6.36 Total: $786.25 Here's what they look like: http://www.campbellperformancetires....rango%2052.JPG I thought about the M/T but they will be noisier. Here's what they look like: http://www.offroaders.com/tech/AT-MT...on-MT-zoom.jpg I may still go with the M/T's I haven't decide. |
you will like the Destination A/T,s. i had them on a large ford Excursion. Excellent in the rain and deep snow. very quiet also, thats a decent price.
