New member without a Hummer
Hey everyone, I decided to join this forum because I currently work as a summer help employee at the Hummer H2 plant, and I worked at the H1 plant last summer building military Humvees. I'm a sophmore in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. I own a 1989 Pontiac 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am, it's 1 of 1550 and it came from the factory with a 3.8L V6 (the same motor essentially as a Grand National). I've got a lot of work done to it and typically just take it to car shows and occasionally take it to the drag strip (I've run 12.2@112 and it's got a lot left in it). I also run a small detailing businees on the side out of my garage, but we've been working soo much lately that I don't have the time to do very much anymore.
Anyways, the main reason I joined was to possibly give some insight to some of the hummer owners about the production of their vehicles. I always love meeting people who know unique information or who maybe even worked on the line building my car and it's nice to be able to hear their stories and ask them questions. So I'm going to make a post in the H2 section to allow anyone to ask me questions about the production of their vehicles. I currently work in the body shop and I load the robot that welds the radiator support, wheel wells, and inner fenders to the truck, but I've done many jobs throught bodyshop and paint including mounting doors, mounting hoods, looking for paint defects, looking for sheetmetal defects, mounting the roof, and many other jobs. Now don't be discouraged about the fact that I'm only summer help so I don't have as much experience in the shop, I can ask some of the questions to the guys I work with who most of them have been there since the begining, and my mom has worked at the H2 plant for 5 years now and she's now the Buyer for the H2 plant (she buys all the equipment and everything in the plant outside of the parts for the trucks).
Here's a couple pictures of my car:

Great car man, great summer job, great choice of careerand great insider info
I've done double major Mechanical engineering myself (although I've done a master's in computer science aftewards).
This must've been a kick *** internship.
Good luck in your degree man.
