Default New Hummer

Well just to let everyone know what happened on my H3 shopping trip.....

At a shopping center this parked in front of us! It was funny to see them together....

Excuse the pics with us. This was the day after and we were trying to relax for our drive home.....

OK I was going to go through our entire buying experience (the biggest rant in a while for me) but I think I'll just give you the cliff notes version.

1. Skeet is always right. Never doubt Skeet.
2. NEVER and I repeat NEVER buy from the Phoenix area dealers. I won't go into it all but basically I was totally lied to and drove 5 hrs basically for nothing. The two superior blue H3s I went to look at were not there. One was sold and the other had the dash torn out to supply parts for someone's warranty work - it also had a $2k custom sunroof he didn't tell me about.
3. Desert package is on everything whether you like it or not. As is document fee, etc.
4. WTF is up with $1700 for nerf bars?!!! I can get the same ones on ebay for like $300
5. It took from 10 AM to 7 PM and a 8 month pregnant woman telling the sales guy off to get the deal done.

So basically I think the deal was ok in the end. However, I would NEVER EVER EVER go there again. EVER.

No we just borrowed that one and then went back for another color. [8D] JK Of course that's it!

It just seemed like the smarter choice and I think it looks pretty classy! We're loving it so far! In fact I am shopping for husky floor liners now. We'll keep it as clean as we can but that would be some nice insurance!

Cruizer - It looks great- just as nice as my boulder gray H3. I have been telling my wife for years that I am always right but she is not yet convinced maybe you can e-mail her? I am amazed you actually bought from the Phoenix dealer- what was the list and what did you pay? I am still waiting for the rear mat the salesman promised us as a peace gesture for charging us about $400 over what we agreed to ( I know better than to expect it). I bet you are happy to have your new car buying experience over ? Wasn't it kind of a root canal?

The deal was pretty messed up, hard to explain. The list was something like 33,830 but then they added on a bunch of bogus charges. I actually don't know what the final list was with added on dealer crap. I just don't remember. Then we had to consider my trade in. On the final paperwork, it was all made up really. They said they had dropped the desert protection package but on the final stuff it still showed. However, it also showed they gave me almost 16k for my trade in which is about 3-3500 too high.

The paperwork was a mess. I figured if they gave me trade in on my car (kbb.com) then came off around 1500 of the original invoice, and they paid TT&L that's about where we came out. (?)

Yeah we did get splash guards (front and rear, installed thrown in). Good luck on the rear mat, I do have one but probably won't use it anyway.

Way worse than a root canal IMO. Definitely glad to have it over and trying to forget it. [&:]

Oh forgot to mention, it does have the 'desert protection package' on it. I can't remember (and don't really care) what all that includes. I do know it's scotch guard protection on the interior, some type of paint protection. It has a gps unit somewhere in the vehicle that can be tracked (for theft purposes - which kind of bugs me) and it has all the glass etched with the vin number. I think there was more. I should find out I guess. The sales guy said even though we 'removed' this, which you can't remove, he had us listed for the 6 month updates to the paint and interior protection at no cost (although we won't take advantage of it because it's not worth going over there.) There is something about if you keep up on this and there gets to be a stain on the seats or something, they replace at no cost to you.

Oh and I got a baseball cap and 4 keychains. Yippee!
