Just picked up my new H3 today. I got the lx and off road packages and my dealer was pushing me to purchase some kind of side body protection for about $600. Apparently the H3 with the off road tires can kick up some mean stones that can nick the sides along the bottom of the door panels. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this from other dealers or have experienced this situation?

 

add mudflaps, it's cheaper and provides a good measure of protection. but the plastic fender flares are going to get nicked no matter what, unless you put something over them.

 

the tires are far more aggressive than the s10 zr2 tires i had and the got stone chipped despite the garbage 3m vinyl, and mudflaps, if you dont want stone chips, leave it in the garage.
