Default New H2 owner...

Hi all. Husband and i just purchased our first H2. 2003 H2 with 118,000 miles on it.
We have been looking at them for years and decided to just pull the trigger. A few things we need to fix on it, nothing major. And a few things we may want to change like the rims. Not to sure i like the 20in rims that are on there. We did have to raise it because whoever had it before us actually lowered it.

I honestly do not know why we waited so long to get one, i absolutely LOVE IT !!!

I've attached a pic from the day we bought it. So far we've cleaned it up, taken the old tint off the windows and put new tint on it, and raised it up a bit. I'll post a newer pic once i take a good one.

Lol - that decal on the locking fuel lid is appropriate. Looks great and yeah a bit low in that first pic. I'm personally more fond of smaller wheels with more sidewall - ride much better and far more useful off road.

Congrats on the new rig, you will love it. New rims would look better.

Congrats and I hope to join the membership sooner than later... I'm in South FL on a slow hunt for an H2... I guess it would be classless to ask what you paid? I see low mileage (100k) early year 2003s asking price in the low $$ teens to Gen2 08-09 in the low 20s... As suggested here I will budget a few thousand to fix the unexpected but expected flaws... I don't mind fixing what I intend to keep...
Cheers,
M

Well, i am no driving my Hummer right now. Unfortunately she's been garaged. Was at the store over the weekend and came out and my H2 had been ransacked. My drivers door lock was punched in, the back window was broken and whatever they could take they took, including all the stuff i had purchased at another store. Unfortunately i was only going to be in the store real quick so i left my purse in the car........... you can see where this is going. YUP........ so far it's been over $1,500 worth of charges on various credit cards. After calling them all i am not responsible for these charges, but i cannot tell you how i feel right now....... HOW DARE SOMEONE TOUCH SOMETHING THAT'S NOT THEIRS !!!!!

I could go on, but i won't. Have to repair a car that didn't need much repair now.

As for price, i purchased it for $14,000.

Sorry to hear your nice H2 got damaged. Real shame. Looks like it is (was) in really great condition for an early H2.

Nobody ever should NEVER leave ANYTHING valuable visible in their car, H2 or otherwise.

Hate to say it, but your were asking for it, leaving your purse as bait. Who could resist that? Plus all the other stuff they could now return to the store for cash. Just icing on the cake.

Having said that, do not let that sour your love for this vehicle. It will be fixed. Enjoy it. These are great vehicles.
For a 2003, budget about 15% of the value for yearly repairs/tires/etc.,and you should be good to go.

NorCal?

I usually don't even carry a purse anymore, i carry a small wallet that i put in my pocket or in my CCW belt. Purse was in the car from work on Friday and forgot to take it out as i usually do, so i just shoved it on the floor in the back. That being said i admit fault.

As for who could resist seeing a purse in the car....well, i would think that any DECENT human being would be able to not touch it.
It's being fixed tomorrow and yes, i will still love this vehicle!

Nope, not NorCal....SoCal.

I've been driving many years with $thousands$ of tools as cargo, and never a problem, no matter where I parked! I've never heard nor seen pics of a Hummer that got broken into? Curious, post the pics of the damage. TIA
