Default New 2006 Hummer H3 owner:-)

Hello Hummer family! ,
I purchased Ethanhunt (named him after one of my favorite secret agents) a birthday gift for myself. I did purchase from a private owner who put 172,000 highway miles on it. I am retired and I drive about 5,000 miles a year, so I felt like we were a good match. I do have a question. When I start my hummer a "Caution! System detected improper connection of parking brake lead. Please check your configuration for safety. Please see Operation Manual for more information regarding safe operation." appears on the screen. Does anyone know what this is referring to? Thanks for any help I can get towards figuring this out.

Off the top of my head I'd say to check the wiring harness near the receiver hitch. Some members have reported the harness rubing against the ?frame? And breaking.
Welcome to the forums!

Cool

Welcome. And yes, I had the same problem. My trailer wiring harness wore through and had to be repaired. It's easy enough to inspect and fix. Trace it from the plug back about a foot and you'll find the connector and where it typically rubs.

Welcome! I will also recommend checking all fluid levels and a chassis inspection

Hello Mkawas:-)
Thank you for responding and for your help. I did have the oil changed, I topped off windshield wiper fluid, checked transmission fluid and I am scheduling a radiator flush this week. I will add the chassis inspection to the list as well. Thanks again and have a wonderful upcoming week!

Welcome from another retired person.
We tow our H3 behind our motorhome (since we fulltime) when we arn't managing a campground during the winter in Arizona.
Great toad with no problems.
