If you want around a 35" tire then you want to go with a 315/75R16 they are between 34.2"-35.1" tall.

The PCM tune is in no way mandatory after you swap to larger meats. But, the nice people at pcmforless.com will adjust your Speedo output to reflect the proper MPH for the tire size you have chosen.

DAIs are. Nice addition to the I5 motor. In combination with the PCM tune you may be back to just about the stock power you felt before the addition of the 315s.

Hope this helps

thanks for the info guys just checking to see if the 35s going to make me lose a lote of power like when i am in the mountains going on the highway? It was bad enough going up the mountain like it is just pulling a 650 Klr behind it seems like the rpms were way up there is that normal?

Sorry, stupid smart phone. CAI (cold air intake) We have put AirDoc CAIs on all of our HUMMERs I5s and Alphas. Great product and Great customer service!

Thanks Manson! I know this is an old thread but I just saw it. I sold that H3 a couple years ago, but missed it so bad I bought another one (H3x Alpha this time). Here are some pics of the new one (I think I perfected the stance on this one 295/70/18s, aka 34.4's, with the front leveled to 23.25" hub to fender).

And, here are some more of the old one, in case you haven't seen them:

Another option for bigger tires is going with 305's which have a wider footprint than 285's, but not as tall 315's. They help to fill out the wheel wells without as sacrificing as much power loss as going with a 315.

Keep in mind when choosing a tire that overall tire weight has a major impact on performance and mileage as well as size. Tire weights for any given size vary greatly between brands/models.

Another AT similar to the BFG is the newer General Grabber AT2. Great tire.

Here's a pic with 305's:

Hey supsam86, does a 295/70/18 tire fit inside that H3X spare tire clamshell ?
