Need Help ASAP: exposed intake inlet
I go into a little accident today and bottom of the right front fender is completely missing. This is exposing the intake inlet to the air box. There is half a foot of snow on the ground right now should I be worried about snow coming up from the tire and into the intake? It is the only car I have right now but I don't want to create further damage especially to engine components.
Can someone give me advice.

If your fender is gone, I can't see how snow thrown from the tire will make a hard left turn into the inlet?
Anyways, if you have an 06/07 shouldn't be a big deal, they have a deep air filter box with drain holes in the bottom and the cylinder filter is tough to get fouled all the way round.
If you have an 08+, should not be much more of an issue, but the entire panel filter is more susceptible to fouling.
Either way, where you get into trouble is not while the filter is getting snow on it, it is after when it melts and the filter is wet, then freezes. Check the filter after getting home for the day. If it is wet, bring it in to dry for the next day.
