Default Need help

Hi everyone. Just joined today. Unfortunately I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to cars. My daughter has a 2006 H3 and it was her dream car. We were just told her engine blew up. Looking to relocate the engine. I see one here that there are easy engine swaps that fit perfect. The mechanic told us it would cost over $10k to replace. There has to be a cheaper way. Any advice where to find a good engine that fits would be appreciated

You need another 2005/06 3.5L from either a Colorado/Canyon or H3 to be the easiest. Even a move to a 2007 3.7L makes more work to get it running properly, and a 3.7L 2008+ adds more to do again.

How do you "know" the engine blew? What happened?

Do you only have one "Mechanic" in your area? Get a second or third opinion, you are being played because the people you have been talking to can see that you are clueless. It's the old, well this costs more to fix than it is worth. Let us take it off your hands..... Then they fix it and pocket your $$.

It is very interesting to see a photo of this blown up engine.
