Default Need help

My 2006 H3 just started acting up, turn key idles for 5 seconds then shuts down. Can't get it to keep running. Sometimes it spits and sputters before shutting off. It kind of acts like it isn't getting fuel. Anybody got any ideas on what I should do?

Is it showing any codes or a check engine light?

I have two ideas: 1) Do NOT post in the H3 FAQ section, where it says in a sticky thread at the top https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/h...section-19461/

2) When was the last time you fueled it? Fuel gauges/sensors die, when they do you do not know what if anything is in the tank. Easy stuff first. Add a couple gallons with a can, then see what happens.

I filled the tank the day before it started to act up.

Same place I've been getting gas for the last few months. What is passlock? I got a new code reader waiting for me at home, so I'll be able to check codes then.

Search GM Passlock. Do you have a flashing security light (the little lock symbol) lit or flashing?

You may have to confirm fuel pressure with a gauge at the fuel rail

When you turn on the key, can you hear the fuel pump run to build pressure?

Hooked up code reader, no codes found. I tried the 10 minutes key on and 10seconds key off did this three times still nothing seems to work. I've wanted a Hummer all my life, (61) now when I got one the darn thing will not run. I have no idea what to do except for draining the tank and adding fresh gas.

It could be something as simple as a frayed wire harness bad connection at the fuel pump. Crawl under there and scope it out.

Have someone else turn the key and listen for the fuel pump.
