I'll tell you right now, compared to a nice aftermarket head unit, the OEM navigation is GARBAGE. I have a 2008 Alpha and the NAV in it was terrible, and outdated. I was disgusted with it from the first time I sat in my truck at the dealer. For the price of an OEM nav you can get an awesome aftermarket system. I bought a Kenwood DNX9960 for $900, yanked the OEM nav, and sold it for $600. However, thats a really good price I paid from the DNX9960 since my buddy is a Kenwood dealer.

You can't go wrong with the Kenwood DNX7160 or 9960, the difference between the two is minimal if you never intend on adding TV's to your truck. I mean really, they have Garmin NAV, not some crappy OEM nav program, you can't beat that. The only NAV that I've seen that beats mine is the Microsoft SYNC system in my fathers 2010 Lincoln MKS.

Streaming music from my phone wirelessly to my head unit is so great, I can't imagine living without it now.

By the time you buy the Nav, and thats IF it comes with the disc and the gps antenna you're already in for $400-600. Then you have to figure out how to hook the damn thing up if your truck didn't come with NAV. I wouldn't want to screw with it, I'd just pay a dealer, and thats probably another $150 there.

Buy a refurb DNX7160 for $800, get a $50 wiring harness from metra, and call it a day. It comes with everything but the satellite receiver which you can buy and add in. It will work out to pretty much the same price and you get a much better product in the end.
