Default Mysterious vibration developed...

2 months ago. Starts on the passenger side front then moves to center console. As 2002 H1 Wagon accelerates, it goes away, then it will come back when coasting or braking and feels like something is rubing the axle while stopping. Once I release the brake at slow speeds the vibration goes away. Can't try to duplicate, doesn't happen when truck is cold only when it's been driven for about 30 min. or more, driving up a steep hill can sometimes start it, but then it will go away and not come back for a week or two.

Any ideas? Been to the dealer twice with no luck other than loose heat shields and such. The said the truck was strong and in great condition and they should know. The put air-shock system in last month, checked all the suspension parts, had the car for 2 days and reported back a clean bill of health.

Thanks in advance.

sounds like a sticky U-joint? I'll guess that if you take off the drive shafts that one of the joints will not move as nicely as the others.

You are chasing a ghost...might take years.

I'm making a guess based on a similar experience....one of the u-joints (a basic Ford RWD) on one of my old cars would lock up from time to time and just cause one heck of a shudder. This went on for a couple of years until it got so bad that it was obvious.

Here is some info on u-joints for the H1

my guess would be the right front brake/rotor assembly issue or a right front halfshaft is locking up on the cv or do joints.

Could be a simple tire balance issue....make sure the tire pressures are set properly
