My New Toy
sorry about delayed response tried to repost the other night just after 3hummers first reply but forum kept timing out on me
but yea i have been busy fighting with this truck. took like 3 days to change the oil pan
1 day to order the first pan and get all the bolts off but one(thought it was siezed)
2nd day i got the one bolt off... after putting a boxed end wrench on it i found out they went from 10mm bolts to 3/8's on just 1 BOLT! also found out the first pan ordered was wrong thats what i get for taking canadian tires word. ran to a city 20min away to grab another pan since I called them and asked them to measure it etc. sure enough canadian tire was still wrong the dipstick was on driverside not passengers side.
3rd day found a pan at a local hot rod shop and put her on.
So yea been pretty busy...
tommorrow ima tune her up and get some video footage of the thing running at night so you can hear how loud it is and see the flames

also i did not notice that bling... but its ok I put more bling on it... the truck didnt come with a aircleaner for the carb so i dropped on a chrome one. also the only oil pan i could get before the weekend was chrome so i got a chrome oil pan as well... pictures to follow and I might just have a truck with chrome that will get you home :P
Also as to the old lil jun truck I sold it to a close friend... although I wanted it to die in my possession it just didnt happen and had to either keep that one or get this new one so I jumped on this new one since the difference in price is about the same amount as adding the extra lift and getting a set of tires for the old rig. this one came pretty well ready.

now I have not wheeled this thing yet.... hopefully this weekend I will and will be sure to get some video and pics of it.
But I have started this beast and let me tell you this thing is seriously LOUD with those straight pipe stacks and the 350, about 2min after firing her up I already had a complaint from the neighbours and I live in a pretty bad neighbourhood.
Also later that night I pulled her back into my drive way then gave her a bit of gas before turning her off and there were 4-5" flames coming out of the stacks
But yea still have some stuff to do to her before she gets wheeled....
Stuff already done:
New battery, posts, and electrical connectors cleaned.
New air cleaner put on the carb... last owner didnt have one and used a plastic bag while storing it....
Replaced leaky oil pan.
oil and filter changed
Stuff to be done:
grease it up.
weld on tow bar tabs
tune it up(new plugs, cap/rotor/wires, fix the timing)
and thats all I want to get done before this weekend... Next week will also be a busy one because there
sure is alot of attention this thing needs.

oh yea almost forgot i get a shifter **** for my hurst tcase shifter tommorrow... was going to go with the pistol grip one but too pricey so just went with a T grip for half the cost.
Also stuff to do next week:
Get some seatbelts put in it!(5 point harness)
cut off and foam the tips to screws sticking through the roof just over my head(hillbilly washer fluid line brackets, goes right over the cab).
wire up the wiper motor
wire up the washer pump
wire up the guages
wire up the trans cooler fans
In the future mods:
New leaf springs and shocks all the way around, current leafs are worthless dont flex at all(my uncle 380lbs and myself 270lbs were in the thing rocking it and it wasnt budging at all). The current setup is stiff leafs that are straight across no arc at all and they are spring over axle and the front even has a 2" steel spacer ontop of the axle. The fix is going to get some new leafs made and arced remove the 2" space and possibly raise it 2" in the front to get some flex in the rear i plan on raising it 3-4" and putting the spring under the axle to get more flex and some strength back.
Cut some of the bed off in the rear and "bob tail" it so it can flex without binding and make it easier to wheel in tight trails. also cut some of the front fenders a bit too so it wont bind with tires.
Put a roll bar on the bed area to protect the fuel cell, rad and other stuff back there then create a canvas cover for it.
Replace old bucket style racing seats with newer ones that have head support.
Wire up CB Radio.
Get some 38.5" boggers for it that i can interchange with the H1.
get some offroad lights
wire up stock lights
and I believe that is all for now hopefully will have most of it done by next year.
