Just got back from a long trip, mostly highway averaging 65 to 70 mph.

After filling the tank up, I calculated my fuel consumption to be a good 18.96 mpg.

The last time was 13 mpg, mostly city stop and go driving.

Could it be because I inflated my tires to 37psi before the long trip?

Didn't notice any difference on how the H3 ride. All four tires were at 32 psi before I decided to inflate them up.

 

glad to hear that you are getting better mpg......were you able to connect your ipod and use it in your H3? Tire pressure may have helped plus it was highway driving.

I posted some pics on another thread of the ipod player i am using, it works just fine.

I saw your set-up with the ipod, it looks wicked. I bought an iRiver transmitter and connected to the ipod too, works great as well.

 

i have a bianchi road bike , what bike do you ride?

 

I only ride and race mountain bikes.

I've got a cannondale F900 XC bike, a Cannondale Gemini 2000 bikercross bike, and a Foes DHS Mono downhill bikes.

Bianchi's are sooo rare here in North America, and they are a great road bike builders.

 

I ride a Fondriest Top Carbon (thus the nick name). I also have a Scott Scale Limited for Mountain biking. Totally off topic. Where are you from. I live in Scottsdale.

i know we are off topic, but the hummer is great for bringing the bikes to a place to ride....i am in south FL or south NJ.

Here are some pix from our trip (My Wife and I) this week.

I'm from Vancouver, B.C., Canada by the way. We headed up to Whistler tuesday, then Pemberton, then around B.C. across to Kamloops then back to Vancouver today.

I carry my bike with SportRack hitch-mounted carrier.

Total miles driven is 625 miles, best mpg I got this trip is 20.1 mpg!!!!
