Never messed with a Colorado but, Physically if the axle tube bolts match up where I circled and overall length is the same, you should be able to install it.
I would imagine the actuator could be controlled with a simple 12v toggle switch.

The C/C 4x4 front does not "lock " the differnetial. It will engage the hub electronically. Just like the old 4x4 manual hubs ... just electronic.

Not much of a MPG or power gain on a HUMMER since the enitre drivetrain will still be rotating from the T-case, front driveshaft, pinion, ring gear to the intermediate shaft.

Plus, there is the strength issue to think about.
