Default My H3

Hi guys!

I am happy I found this site. The URL should be included with every Hummer owner's manual. I found the H3 engine oil filter quickly because of this site.

I use the H3 to run 150 miles from Central Mass to the tip of Cape Cod every weekend from May until October and my two weeks vacation in August. I trailer my 17' Mako Center Console boat (2,000 pounds wet) into the sand dunes of the Cpae Cod National Seashore. Here is a link to where I am fishing:(http://www.nps.gov/caco/planyourvisit/oversand.htm) to the Water Front Self Contained Parking Area. There I drop the boat in the sand. I welded up a push bumper to the front of the H3 and I use it to push the boat into the water. I fish commercially for Stripped Bass, Cod, Fluke and Blue Fish. When I return to shore I use the H3 to pull it up the beach next to the Camper. I have done this for thirty years.I embedded a photo of my boat on the beach for an idea of what I do.

I originally started doing this with a '89 full size Ford Bronco. As the family grew I moved up to a Full Size '94 GMC Suburban (two boys, two dogs, weekend of food and clothes). I bought a'98 Ford Expedition for work and used that on the beach until the fuel prices went up ($100.00 to fill it up). In April I traded Expedition in for the H3. Looking back I can now say it was a great purchase. It has done everything I asked of it with a few sacrifices.

I will be happy to mail responses to any questions regarding the Trailering, Front Mounted Hardware, Salt water fishing with and driving over sand with the H3.

Sincerely,

Rollie

PS For those interested in a fishing charter for the Outer Banks of Cape Cod here is a link to my son's website: www.reel-timefishingcharters.com. My son's name is also Roland (Rollie) and he is a Charter Boat Captain. He is Federally licensed and insured as a ship's Captain for vessels up to 700 tons. His boat is a very fast Center Console that runs dialy out of Plymouth, MA. I would recommend you go to his website and click on "The Captain". You will see a picture of both of us. I also recommend you click on "Fishing Reports" and then "Photos" for an up to date report on what is going on out there. This is very exciting fishing. Tight Lines!

Howdy and welcome. What, no dune riding at the beach, bummer. Fishing I like, almost as much as eating the catch!!

Got sand?

Welcome!
I'm a newer member also and have found this forum very knowledgable and also humorous at times. That's a good thing!
I used to fish on my dads salmon party boat out the Noyo harbor, Fort Bragg, CA.(The Lucky Days). The boats retired now and I have his Captains wheel. Maybe I'll keep the H3 wheel too after I retire her.....I totally enjoy it that much!
