Okay so i have replaced my factory deck to a Kenwood aftermarket deck(Kenwood DNX7160). Doing so has stopped my AM radio from working. Any suggestions on how to get this to work? i went to the shop that did my Subwoofer install and they added a HUGE antenna to the roof, they said that is the only way to get it to work. I am pretty sure i can do something else to get it to work, can someone please help me!

im curious what u started with and ended with as an am/fm radio?

my stock radio works well with the stock side mount ant, am,fm.

i think the BIG antenna is a "baffle with bs" response to another problem

I started with the stock radio/deck that the Hummer came with, i wanted to customize my hummer for shows which i have, so i changed the entire deck and now the FM works perfectly fine it's just the AM i am having problems with, im pretty sure its because the antenna. I do not have one of the antennas on the front left or the little one on the roof.

 

if the radio has just one ant conn and am dont work the radio is bad

 

Alot of times changing headunits can bring down the freq. on radio stations. I had an alpine installed on another car and the Am never worked and FM was really weak. I use CD's and ipod so its not a big deal for me.

 

i use Cd's and my iPod aswell, but i want to listen to the AM radio once in a while, i am thinking that when i got the deck installed they took the ant. off

 

curious?,,,if you paid money to get a job done,why not just go back and have them fix it right?,,or get your money back??
