That looks like a really good set-up you've got there. I'm planning on putting cab lights on mine and changing the side markers to yellow as well. I have smoke dout ones right now.

I'm waiting for the tailights to come it. I ordered smoked out ones.

Loving all these blacked out hummers lol sorry I havent gotten back to you...but anyway I checked my grill that I painted myself a month ago and of course theres a few pin size dings here and there mostly in the middle but not as bad as I would have guessed. I scuffed the entire grille and than used 2 cans of adhesion promoter and than another 2 cans of black spray paint. all done in light coats. I decided against the clear coat because I wanted a more flat look but that may have helped keep the chipping down. I'm just gonna stick with it through winter and if need be i'll throw another few coats on when it warms up. Not too big of a pain

cprusik, I've been blacking out my Fiancés yellow H3X... We did the chrome mirrors and door handles, and custom H2 hood handles... Hit everything w/ 2 coats of adhesion promoter like you, some spray paint and than used some semi flat clear (duplicolor I believe) came out nice, you should use that for your grille, it has just enough clear to it to make it look professional w/ that flat texture and look...

Where did you get the smoked out side markers? I want those instead of the yellow ones I have.

I got them when I bought the vehicle, they came already installed. I've been talking about swapping them out and I know that someone else was interested in swapping them out for mine. I need to get off my *** and uninstall them. I'm not sure how i'd swap them, though? I don't know how comfortable I am just mailing them off to someone and hoping they keep good on their end. Hahaa. So, who knows?

Plasti dip will still chip (no matter how many coats), even though it's easier to re-apply for touch ups, it's still time consuming.

I would suggest using bed liner on a chrome grille. Rustoleum brand for a glossy look and not as textured, duplicolor brand for a flat and textured look.
