I drove 08 H3 wagons last year knowing I was going to purchase one, now granted, I never drove the manual trans but the difference in performance (acceleration) between the I5 and V8 was quite noticeable. I delayed my purchase once I found out about the H3T and test drove both the I5 and V8 versions again in the H3T. Now again, I did not drive the standard trans but the I5 did have quite a bit more spunk than I remembered. The acceleration gap between the I5 and v8 sure seemed like it had closed upsome. My dealer told me (and this is just what I was told I have no other evidence to back it) that the gearing was changedto give the I5 more highway pep because of previous complaints. Like I said, it wasn't a manual, and I don't know how true the gearing thing is, but there was a noticable difference from the 08 I5 I drove and the 09 I5 in the H3T.Granted I didn't do any 0-60 comparisons, or a 1/4 mile, but the 09 I5 had no problem pulling its self up on the freeway to merge with traffic.
I ended going with the v8, and I love the truck. I can only think of a couple of small minor things I would like to have seen Hummer add to it but they are small and petty.
All and all its a great truck!
