What is the best motor oil to use?
I have always used Mobil 1 but am now thinking or leaning towards Castrol Edge. Hopefully the guy wont come out from the counter and hit me with a dipstick!

I love my hummer and want that motor to last as long as I can make it!

What is everyone using on their H2??

 

I think Mobil 1 is the best and it's easy to find anywhere you shop.

I have used Mobil1 for years. It is the factory oil that came in my Corvette, Mercedes and I now use it in my H2. I have not had any oil related issues on my past 3 100k mile SUV's (2 GMC Denalis and 1 Explorer).

I went with Mobil 1.

Frankly, the brand has far less to do with performance than so may other factors that the discussions of the benefits of one brand over another are only good for pissing the time away while you are enjoying some suds with your buddies.

 

When is the proper time to go Synthetic? My H2 is 43,000 miles and I just bought some Mobil one! Is that enough time on the motor? I am going to try to get 300,000 miles out of this motor!

 

There is no reason not to change at the first oil change.
