No Im not that crazy .. Im not driving my beast from Miami to Moab (whish I could)

Im spending some days in Moab as part of a RT ..
While there I will rent a Jeep ( ) to make some off road

Not looking for anything too crazy just some trails . If any one can recommend it

Also I will get a Hummer H1 tour . Will post some pics later

I was just there last week. Any tour you take will will most likely take you on the Hel'ls Revenge trail. If you'd rather drive it, then rent a jeep with a guide. You can drive the same trail (Hell's Revenge) while following the guide in their jeep. It's best to have a guide to ensure you come back without any damage. My favorite (and local legend) is Dan Mick Moab Jeep Tours | Moab Jeep Tours

Or you can take the easy/cheap route and do the mini tour with a razr w/ this group: https://moabcowboy.com/

I've done both and you will not be disappointed either way.

Done Moab 17 times. Lots of fun trails that you could do in your H2 and not worry about damage. You don't need a guide. Trails are well marked. Many, like Seven Mile Rim, have bypasses for the obstacles that might make you think twice. Hell's is a must. The tours will not take you through Hell's Gate, Tip Over Challenge, Escalator, etc or any of the fun obstacles. ( all are optional and have bypasses ) Dan Mick just had some issues with a tour group that hired him and I doubt they will hire him again. Dan is a very knowledgable guy and I have known him a long time but you don't need to pay a guy like that for the easier trails.

Buy the FunTreks book for Utah. It has detailed pictures, trail routes, waypoints, etc for each trail in Moab that you might want to run. On your first trip I would stay on the trails that are rated 5-6 or less. Some of the trails like Moab Rim and Hell's Revenge are rated too high, they are not nearly as difficult as the book would have you believe.

@Mulepic
I rather to stay in a tour or goi the easy way in a razr .. not willing to risk family in a extreme offroad drive without any exp

Hells revenge is what I've been looking at ... Looks extreme online but will trusting an expert guide .. so far the extreme 4x4 tours and hummer tours are my favorites

Also was looking at cowboy tours . Looks fun ,safe and affordable. . Not sure if going on a tour or with the cowboys
What would you choose ?

@3hummers ...

Im not taking the Hummer in the trip. . Flying into Denver . Rent a Jeep then drive Durango-mesa verde-moab-arches/canyonland-glenwood-aspen-estes park - RMNP -back to miami

I will look the trails you mentioned and check with the rental car place to be sure it is allowed on those

Will also look for the funtreek book . May be interesting.

I was looking to do Gemini trail/shaffer trail , how interesting could be (remember Im only looking to spend some time out of the roads . Due to my limited/none existing offroad exp driving on Real offroad such as hells revenge is not a choice
Thanks

Sounds like moab cowboy offroad would be a good fit for you and your family. I wouldn't even bother taking a rental off road. Then save your family the grief of traveling all that way in a jeep and rent something more suitable for road trips.

Gemini and Schaffer are easy trails. Good for a family trip.
