Missing cap inside the Hood

Hi, today I opened the hood and found that a cup is missing.
- Do you know for what it is?
- how does it look like? (can you post a pict)
- Where can I order a replacement?
- What liquid is inside that reservoir?

It is your power steering pump reservoir cap, or more corectly known as the Power Brake Booster Cap PN# 15132766. #2 below. Just google GM 15132766 https://www.google.com/search?q=GM+1...hrome&ie=UTF-8 and it will come up, its about $20.00.

If it were me, I would put some tin foil over the top with a rubber-band around the neck to hold it there until you get the cap to keep crud/moisture from falling in the pump fluid.

power steering cap,probably lots available at any junk yard for 2 $!!

power brakes use air pressure.

My bad.... I did type Brake, but I meant Power Steering Booster Cap dang nabit. :confused:

Our old truck had 160k miles and we never lost the cap. Maybe keep an eye out on the folks who service your truck?

havent had my truck long enough to need servicing. I did my first oil change and such..but the cap was on before...maybe it was just too loose.

Lost my cap too.
No idea how it came off.
Could it pop off?
Maybe pressure build up?
