I was wondering how to take that chrome piece off of the side view mirrors. I believe it's on the 2006 but it's definitely on the 2007 (I have the 2007). I'm dying to paint it black!! I have tried prying it off but I don't want to break it because as yall know getting hummer parts is next to impossible. Thanks.

 

You will need to remove the mirror glass. I rolled down my front windows and adjusted the mirror glass all the way out, then carefully pried the mirror off by the attachment point. Everything unscrews from the inside after that. Hardest part is prying the mirror because it feels like you are going to break it. Others may have another way, but this worked for me. What about masking and painting right on the car?

 

Yes, just mask everything off and paint them. These mirrors are harder and harder to find, you break of the gears or anything inside it's going to be a nightmare finding a replacement for a decent price.

 

Spray plasti dip on that chrome mirror. If you don't like what you see, it simply peels off for another color look
