The other thread has me wondering when everybody changes their oil; when the "change oil" message is displayed or at 5000 miles?

 

My note just went on yesterday....so upon message for me.

 

I don't ever reset the change oil button.. I use pure synthetic, so I change it every 5000 mi. Seems to be perfect.

 

in 4000 miles at 20 mpg i use 200 gal of gas at 275/gal= $550

that gas causes wear/tear on my precious 3.7 so i blow 5% on mobile one to preserve it, about 30 bucks for warm fuzzy feelings!!

btw on sat i started my adventure at 11 miles on speedo!! ill prob change at 1-2000

I'm about to start doing the same. I haven't had my H3 long enough to need an oil change, but I'm going to switch it over to synthetic soon and change it every 5k. I think synthetic has nothing but positives going for it and I switch all of my vehicles over. It's worth the extra money.

I get the monthly OnStar report and when oil life gets down to 20% I change it with full synthetic and then reset the monitor. It works out to every 8,000 to 10,000 miles.
